The song ‘In The Air
Tonight’ was written and produced by Phil
Collins in 1981 after the
divorce from his wife in 1979.
In 2007 Cadbury used
the song in their Gorilla advertisement campaign for its famous Dairy Milk
Chocolate Bar (my favourite) featuring a gorilla playing the drums –
then there's that great doo-dom doo-dom
doo-dom comes in, and the drums come in half way through the song, setting the
template for all the Eighties drum songs after that.

In July 2008 the
Cadburys advertisement helped the song reach No.3 in New Zealand went to No.1 the
following week and stayed there for two weeks beating its original 1981 No.6
status.
The lyrics of the
song take the form of a dark monologue directed towards an unnamed person:
Well if you told me you were drowning, I
would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend, but I
don't know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
Cheers Big Ears Hope
you have a lovely weekend all!
